What Happens After Bail Hearing?

After a bail hearing, the judge or magistrate will decide whether to grant bail and, if so, what conditions will be imposed on the defendant’s release. If bail is granted, the defendant or their representative may be required to post bail in cash, property, or a bond to secure their release from custody.

Once bail has been posted, the defendant may be released from custody and allowed to return home or to another designated location, subject to the conditions of their release. These conditions may include restrictions on travel, curfews, requirements to report to a probation officer or other authority, and other requirements designed to ensure the defendant’s appearance in court and protect public safety.
